Join host, Regina Barr, and author, Lara Currie, for a 30 minute informational interview as they discuss the book, Difficult Happens: How Triggers, Boundaries & Emotions Impact You Every Day, on Wednesday, April 18 at 12 noon CST.

Honest communication is a scarcity. We spend our time talking, posting, assuming, and reacting while spending very little time listening and understanding ourselves and others. We communicate in ways we have learned in our lives ignoring negative patterns and stuffing our feelings.

In this revealing, fun, and easy-to-read book, Lara Currie explores how we are triggered in our everyday interactions which leads to over-stimulation that has us feeling anxious, stressed out, and depressed. Lara gives you a categorical breakdown of the Who, Why, When, and now What of common triggers as well as what you can do to recognize them, how to resist “just reacting”, and how to establish clear and protective boundaries so you can thrive!

As you follow these steps, your relationships, confidence, and self-esteem will improve, and you will find joy in increasingly drama free and honest relationships. Drawing from her work in high conflict positions, her own personal journey, and some of the leading thinkers of our time, Lara leads the reader to an increased self-awareness, an understanding of what that “knot” in the pit of your stomach is trying to tell you, and skills you can implement today to become the person you were meant to be.

Lara Currie is a coach and speaker, who works with professionals in high-stakes, high-stress, purpose driven fields. Lara is a graduate from Seattle University where she obtained a B.A. in journalism. Always interested in communication, community, and social justice, she not only raised three children over her 26-year career, but worked as an investigative journalist, segment producer, licensed private investigator and a title 26 guardian ad litem representing the child’s interest in high-conflict divorces. During these years she studied how working with certain ‘personalities’ and communication dynamics of people could foster or disrupt the workings of the group at large and prevent the group from staying on mission.
