What does it mean to Rise and Shine?
The courage to rise up in the face of adversity can cause emotional distress and mental anguish. If not addressed, it can rob you of your ability to develop the resilience necessary for your health and well-being. In this empowering and insightful memoir, author Michelle Perdue reflects on her life experiences which have allowed her to cultivate the resilience needed to triumph personally and professionally. Using transformational lessons based on her own experiences, Perdue’s fruitful wisdom inspires and challenges readers to Rise and Shine.
Michelle Perdue, M.Ed. not only provides tangible tools to survive life’s challenges, but more importantly thrive as a result of them.
Michelle has had the pleasure of speaking at some of the most formidable companies including Land O’ Lakes, Johnson & Johnson, and Ecolab, to name a few. She also been invited to speak at conferences and fundraisers including TeamWomen, Minnesota Women Lawyers, Domestic Abuse Project and Zonta International. Whether they were seeking inspiration or information the end goal was the same, to foster resilience to change their lives and ultimately the world.
When Michelle is not speaking she enjoys acting and writing poetry. One of her most notable film roles can be seen in the award winning film, “Turnipseed” based on the true life of John Turnipseed. As a trained actress, member of the Screen Actors Guild and award winning poet, Michelle believes her creative abilities and commitment to self-expression is what has helped her to rise and shine. It is her firm belief that when she shines, she empowers others to shine even brighter.
