Author Interview with Kimberly Layne

April 21, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm CDT

Join host, Regina Barr, and Kimberly Layne, for a 30 minute informational interview via Zoom Webinar as they discuss her book, Connections Change Everything: How Smart Leaders Connect Through Better Conversations, on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 @ 12 noon CST.

How do you Connect with People in a Time of Social Disconnection and Virtual Work Environments?

If you are a CXO, a Sales Executive, a Leader at any Level, this may be the most important book you read this year. Here’s why…
But first a warning: This is not for the leader who wants to remain in a hierarchical top down, power based leadership position. If that is you, good luck, because the employees of today, and our remote economy are demanding a different style of leadership.

This book focuses on the increasing need to be less technical and tactical and to be more relationship focused. It begins with knowing yourself, and your willingness to really invest in knowing your employees and teams. It is evident, now more than ever, as we face both an increasingly emotionally disconnected and physically disconnected work environment and world, that our ability to create human connection is our most powerful tool as a leader. Time and time again, it is the “soft stuff” that makes the “hard stuff” work.

In Connections Change Everything, you will find 16 daily steps and actions you can selectively adopt to truly become an impactful presence in the lives of the people you lead. When you become more present and connected by practicing these strategies, be rewarded with greater productivity, retention, and profitability and the fulfilling knowledge that you too have built a legacy of connection. Quick and easy to read, this book focuses on the following key Leadership Skills that will help you build stronger human connections in this remote and physically distanced environment.

Kimberly Layne, of Kimberly Connection Company (KCC),  is a Leadership Development Consultant, an Employee Engagement Partner, and Host of the Power of Connection in Biz Show on YouTube. She is also a Professional Speaker, and Author of Connections Change Everything, released ironically just before the Pandemic.

As a previous Top Sales Executive for Fortune 100 Companies such as Boston Scientific, United Healthcare, and Genpact, she has witnessed the power of relationships and connections not only in driving sales, but also in motivating and retaining employees. Seeing and experiencing how poor leadership affects our happiness and productivity at work, she was inspired to write this book.

Kimberly has a BBA from Kent State University Honors College and an MBA from John Carroll University graduating summa cum laude in both. Kimberly is also pursuing a PHD in Psychology at Pepperdine, is an Internationally Certified Professional Coach. In addition, she is on the Executive Next Practices Advisory Board, and a Practice Leader for Nextworks Strategies.
